To The Dead in the Graveyard Underneath My Window
Description:
LibriVox contributors present 14 audio recordings of "To The Dead in the Graveyard Underneath My Window" by Adelaide Crapsey. This poetry collection was created as part of a Halloween project in October 2017.
The readings are performed in English by a talented group, including Bruce Kachuk, Chase Landkamer, Claudia Sterngucker, David Lawrence, Eva Davis, Garth Burton, Ian King, MaryAnn, mnlopez, Nemo, Patrick Wallace, Phil Schempf, Tomas Peter, and tovarisch.
Crapsey's life ended in tragedy, and despite her vibrant love for life, she departed with many of her works incomplete. Her final year unfolded in exile at Saranac Lake, where she gazed from her window onto the graveyard, which she wittily referred to as "Trudeau's Garden." This poignant observation reflects the bittersweet irony of her fate.
